Les Fleur De Lys

This is one CD that I would almost say: "skip my download and buy it for $100 on Amazon". One of my favorites, Les Fleur De Lys formed in the UK back in 1964 but for a completish history, look here. There's some misses on this disc to be sure, but the high points are some of the best of the '60s.
Les Fleur had many different lineups which might explain why my two favorites, "Mud In Your Eye" and "Hold On" sound like totally different bands.
Turn on "Mud in Your Eye" and go fucking drop out.

  1. You turned me on to this band and I went and bought the CD for $22. Does that mean I saved $78.00? Anyway, I love the guitar sound on "Mud in Your Eye," that smashing Who-style clang-clang, and the rest of the album is good too. As Agnetha Fältskog would say, thank you for the music.

  2. Glad you like it! Yeah, I know what some people charge on Amazon isn't a good way to value a CD but I like posting the prices anyway. I guess some people are dumb enough to pay that much?

  5. If I remember rightly, Gordon Haskell - bassist and vocalist for King Crimson on the 'Lizard' album - was a bassist in this band at some point in the late sixties.
