The Vectors

VINYL RIP (7" ep)

The Best and loudest S.F. punk Band in the '90s.
(Not to be confused with the older band "The Vectors").

Saw them a bunch, played with them a few times and along with bands like the Idiots and the Loudmouths were friends in the local "music scene". My band started covering their song "San Francisco" years later, but we never did it justice.
And the band today? Dave moved to New Orleans and ODd. Tim - I heard - moved to Memphis and became a Baptist preacher. No idea where Ben is, and I ran into Vinnie in L.A. and he's doing well and playing music. This here is a 4 song 7" ep, but the songs on side A go right into one another, so I left it as one 4 minuteish track. Enjoy!

  3. Heya Tim! Long time! This is Mike from the Jack Saints here doing this blog...
I can't remember who told me you went and became a preacher. Thanks for the updates and correction on Dave. Would love to hear your post-Vectors stuff. I'm planing on posting the Seizure Boy 7" sometime too

  8. Hey, just to clarify, Dave had been getting some special laser treatment at U.C.S.F. from an extremely competent doctor who, reportedly, only had one patient and that patient was, in fact, Dave. The doctor was trying to prevent Dave from going blind as the Vectors lead guitarist was diabetic and his eyesight was continually getting worse. This is not the kind of laser treatment you get when you don't want to wear glasses anymore. He told me that he had to get a big needle stuck in his eye every time to prevent pain before getting the laser treatment. When Dave moved to New Orleans he continued getting this laser treatment and no doubt the quality of care was substandard to what he had been getting at U.C.S.F. Anyway, he was having severe headaches for two weeks before he died, which had to be the result of the laser treatment and that's what I think caused his death. But I could be wrong. And Tim didn't become a preacher. He went to Taiwan and China to teach English and he is not a missionary.

It sure would be cool if you put the Vectors ten inch on here some time! And much appreciated also.

  9. Hey, thanks for the info! Tim updated the Blog with some of what you said, but for some reason deleted his comments. Didn't know Dave was getting eye treatment. That sounds gnarly... I just found the original Vectors demo and I still have the 10", so I'll upload all of it soon. I assume you don't need the Seizure Boy 7"?
